SA Solar (SAS) was formed through the strategic partnership of Quest Group
and Sage Electrical Systems, two businesses with deep roots in South
African renewable energy, united under a single focused brand.
Proudly South African · SA Solar is part of SAS Energy Holdings (Pty) Ltd
01 / OUR STORY
Where we come from.
SA Solar did not start from nothing. It started from two established
South African businesses, each with a body of completed work behind it,
choosing to operate as one.
Parent business 01
Quest Group
Quest Group brings extensive experience across residential, commercial,
industrial, agricultural, mining and enterprise-scale renewable energy projects: the breadth required to carry a project from feasibility
through to commissioning at any scale.
Sage Electrical Systems brings a proven track record of more than 500
successful residential installations: the depth of repetition that
teaches a team how to size a home system honestly and finish it
properly.

The combined entity
Together, under the SA Solar brand, we are uniquely positioned to
deliver world-class energy solutions across every sector of the market, from individual homeowners to utility-scale developments.
SA Solar operates as part of SAS Energy Holdings (Pty) Ltd,
a proudly South African company and Level 4 B-BBEE contributor.
02 / OUR VISION
One trusted renewable energy partner.
Be the renewable energy partner that South African homes, businesses,
farms and industries can trust for the long term.
South Africa needs reliable, cost-effective, sustainable energy
solutions at every level of the market. We exist to provide them, with the technical depth to handle complex commercial and industrial
projects, and the craftsmanship and care to do residential work
properly.
Our vision is straightforward. Not to be the largest installer in the
country, and not to be the cheapest quote on the table, but to be the partner a client keeps calling back, for the second site, the expansion,
and the system after that.
A message to existing Quest Group and Sage Electrical Systems clients.
The formation of SA Solar does not change your relationship with us. All
existing clients of Quest Group and Sage Electrical Systems can expect
full continuity of support, warranty management and service delivery
under the SA Solar brand.
The same people. The same standards. One unified team.

We design what we install, and we install it right. The drawing, the specification and the finished system are the responsibility of the same team.
02
Honest advice
We will tell you if solar is not the right fit, or if a smaller system makes more financial sense. A recommendation we cannot defend is not worth making.
03
Long-term relationships
We are not here to sell a system and disappear. Monitoring, maintenance and warranty management continue long after handover.
04
South African commitment
We invest in local skills, local jobs and local energy security. A Level 4 B-BBEE contributor, working on the grid we all depend on.
ONE ENERGY FUTURE
One brand. One team. One energy future.
Built on engineering excellence, quality workmanship and long-term client
relationships, SA Solar is here to help South Africans achieve energy
security, reduce operating costs and build a more sustainable future.
Every module on earth is rated at AM 1.5. Here is yours.
Computed from your own clock. The ray on the left is drawn at the true zenith
angle for this instant; the chart on the right is the spectrum that survives
the trip down, against the part silicon can actually use. Everything past
1107 nm passes straight through the cell.

THE LINE YOU ARE STANDING ON
Sunrise is a line moving at four hundred metres a second.
The day and night sides of the earth, computed from where the sun is directly overhead at this moment. The tilt of that line against the meridians is the season. The figure of eight is the analemma: where the sun sits at the same clock time every day for a year, and the reason solar noon and clock noon disagree.

ALREADY IN THE DIARY
The only grid event whose timing is known to the second.
A total solar eclipse crosses southern Africa on 25 November 2030, from the Atlantic over Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and Lesotho, leaving the coast near Durban. Every plant inside the shadow ramps down together, which is exactly the correlated event a spread-out fleet normally protects you from.
