MEASURE THIS ROOF

Your phone is already a survey instrument.

Hold it flat against the roof and this reads the tilt and the direction off the device sensors, then integrates a full year of sun angles for that exact plane. On a desktop, or if you decline the sensor, the sliders do the same job and it says so.

ONE CELL, A THIRD OF THE MODULE

Cover one cell and watch a third of the panel leave.

Move the pointer onto the module. Whatever you cover goes into reverse bias and starts dissipating heat instead of making power, until its bypass diode conducts and takes that entire third of the module out. The thermal field and the electrical loss are solved together.
